Prop Firm Risk Watch - Scam Alerts & High Risk List
Updated: March 21, 2026
We built this page for one reason: to help U.S. traders avoid scams and needless blow‑ups. Below you’ll find our Risk Scale (1–5), how we assign risk, how often we re‑assess, and a running list of Known Scam and High‑Risk firms with evidence. Our goal is simple: clear, fair, and sourced information so you can decide with confidence.
**Transparency & Risk Notice** This page contains opinion‑based risk assessments supported by public information and our review methodology. Trading involves significant risk of loss. Always conduct your own due diligence before acting on any information. Full disclosure here.
Our Risk Scale (What the labels mean)
The Prop Firm Risk Watch list includes firms that present a significantly elevated risk of being scams, have been confirmed as fraudulent through multiple independent sources, or pose an extremely high risk to traders located in the United States. This ranking system is completely separate from the other rating systems on our website. Please do not confuse these categories.
Our Three Ranking Systems
1. General Review Ranking
This is a broad, surface‑level comparison of a firm against its peers.
It evaluates:
Current marketing practices
Pricing and fees
Competitiveness within the industry
This ranking is quick and general, and is not the same as the In‑House Review or the Prop Firm Risk Watch rankings.
2. In‑House Review Ranking
This is the most accurate and most important ranking system on USA Trader Deals.
It is based on:
Verified information
In‑house stress testers who have actually traded with each firm
Detailed analysis of rules, payouts, reliability, pros, and cons
A firm may have two scores:
A General Review score
An In‑House Review score
Any firm scoring 3.0 or higher (out of 5) in the In‑House Review is considered safe and reliable.
Scores below 3.0 indicate potential issues and may result in placement on the Prop Firm Risk Watch list.
Understanding Scores Below 3.0
Scores 2.9 – 2.0: High‑Risk Firms
A score in this range means the firm may be high‑risk due to:
Limited information (new or unverified company)
Broken or unclear rules
Multiple reports of payout issues
Negative reputation across trusted sources
High regulatory risk for U.S. traders
These firms are not recommended or endorsed by USA Trader Deals.
We strongly encourage traders to conduct their own research before purchasing any challenge or account.
Scores 0.1 – 2.0: Confirmed Scam Firms
Firms in this category have been identified as scam prop firms based on multiple verified sources.
Common red flags include:
Collecting challenge or instant account fees and refusing to pay out
Breaching accounts despite rule compliance
Changing rules without notice
Using fake photos, testimonials, or payout proofs
Shutting down or rebranding after collecting fees
If you have purchased an account from a firm in this category, we recommend:
Attempting to obtain a chargeback (even though this is normally discouraged in the prop firm industry)
Reporting the scam to the appropriate authorities
New traders are often targeted, and these scams can happen to anyone.
Important Reminder
Do not confuse the Prop Firm Risk Watch rankings with:
General Review Rankings, or
In‑House Review Rankings
Each system serves a different purpose and evaluates firms using different criteria.
For the safest experience, we recommend choosing firms with a 3.0 or higher In‑House Review score and reviewing the full In‑House analysis for detailed insights.
How We Assign Risk (the short version)
We evaluate each prop firm using verified data, trader feedback, and our own in‑house testing. Firms scoring 3.0 or higher are considered reliable. Scores below 3.0 indicate elevated risk, ranging from limited information to repeated payout issues. Firms scoring 2.0 or below are classified as confirmed scams based on multiple independent sources. Our goal is to help traders identify trustworthy firms and avoid high‑risk or fraudulent operations.
Re‑Assessment Policy (When we re‑score risk)
- Cadence: We re‑assess quarterly.
- Faster path: If a firm contacts us with a disagreement and provides credible evidence, we’ll review off‑cycle and publish the outcome.
- Transparency: Every change appears in the Changelog at the bottom of this page with dates and a one‑line reason.
(Why not daily? Because risk signals need to be verified, not chased. Quarterly keeps us current without amplifying noise.)
We will give a pending outcome statement if a firm has asked for a re-evaluate and has credible evidence or has asked for a stay during the re-evaluation process. This will be updated when staff has the the ability to work on each case and is at the description of
